The concept realizes harmony between people and things, and communication with space.In this concept, we explored the proposition of how to treat the phenomenon of “light,” which has no mass and no substance, as the smallest element that constitutes space.

Sustainability as a design expression

Sustainability is an unavoidable part of any design project, but the use of recycled or biodegradable materials does not necessarily translate into new physical properties or practicality.This product has a primitive, single-material exterior and minimal internal components such as LEDs.We believe that by visually expressing the smallest unit of “light,” we can come closer to sustainability in the true sense of the word, without claiming to be environmentally conscious up front.

光の最小単位とはどのような形状か

人ともの、空間とのコミュニケーションの調和を実現する。このコンセプトでは質量を伴う実体を持たない「光」という現象をどのように空間を構成する最小要素として取り扱うのかという命題に対して私達は探求を行いました。

意匠表現としての持続可能性

デザインプロジェクトにおいて持続可能性は避けて通れない要素のひとつですが、リサイクル素材や生分解可能な素材の使用が必ずしも新しい物理的特性や実用性を獲得するわけではありません。
このプロダクトは単一素材でのプリミティブな外装、LEDなどの内部部品も最低限の構成です。環境配慮を前面にうたうことなく、視覚的に「光」の最小単位を表現することで本来の意味での持続可能性に近づくと信じています。
